Peer Mentor Programme

A Progressive Learner’s Journey with Two Unique Pathways

Our two-year trauma-focused peer mentor programme is designed to support individuals who have become isolated due to the trauma they have experienced. This progressive learner’s journey equips participants with the resilience needed to embrace post-traumatic growth and the courage to become the best version of themselves.

Simultaneously, participants gain valuable work experience and educational accreditations that empower them to thrive in society.

Community Organisation Programme Structure

Our programme comprises three stages, each designed to develop learners in specific ways. These stages incorporate core units alongside bespoke optional units, which are co-created with participants as they progress. The challenges and learning in one stage inform and shape the bespoke content of the next, creating a dynamic and adaptable experience.

We have developed a circular curriculum that enables participants to delve as deeply as they wish and exit the programme when they feel ready. Each stage sharpens skills and deepens post-traumatic growth.

  • Stage 1: Level 1 – Resilience (6 months)
  • Stage 2: Level 2 – Restore (6 months)
  • Stage 3: Level 3 – Growth (1 year)

Format

Due to the content and learners needs, these courses are only delivered in person. Each of these courses have a 5 day introduction workshop followed by a taught element 1 day a week over the course of the Accredited Course with an expectation that leaners will attend a more informal 2 hour session as well.

During the second half of the Level 1 there is a need for the learner to gain a volunteering opportunity to gain the Award. Both the level 2 and 3 Accredited Course require the learner to be either volunteering or paid employment to gain the Award.

Fostering Active Citizenship and Transferable Skills

We understand that active citizenship looks different for everyone. Our programme focuses on developing core skills that allow individuals to flourish in diverse environments—whether in employment, volunteering, or long-term peer mentoring.

Rather than focusing on narrow, job-specific skills, our learner’s journey emphasises transferable skills recognised as essential by the World Economic Forum and futurists for thriving in the 4th and 5th industrial revolutions.

Key Skills Include:
